I happened upon Microsoft Power Toys in my wanderings today.
These applications will give you control of some small things on your computer that may make a big difference to your working experience. I recommend testing out the ClearType Tuner, the Tweak UI application (UI means user interface), and the image resizer.
Inside the Tweak UI application, you can change the places that pop up on the left-hand side when you save or open a file. (It doesn’t seem to apply to MS Word, although I haven’t restarted my computer yet.)
PowerToys only apply to Windows XP.
