How to Get Your Android Phone Out of Safe Mode

One of my friends suddenly found that her phone had put itself in “safe mode”. She had no idea how she had done it and no idea how to get it out of that mode. After looking around on the internet, I found a solution that worked for her.

  1. Turn the phone off.
  2. Turn it back on and hold the “up” volume button.

Pretty easy, but it seemed to work for her.

Hope this helps!

    Thanks for our help.
It worked on my Sony Xperia Z2.
Turn on the phone and keep pressing the “up”volume.

Worked like a charm. You have to turn your phone completely off and wait a few seconds. Hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time and continue to hold the volume button until your phone turns completely on.

On the Samsung Galaxy 3, just turn off the power & take out the battery for a few minutes. Once you replace the battery & turn it on, it should be back to normal.

My Motorola Droid comes on, I am unable to slide to unlock. I’ve tried all of these reboot solutions. I will not unlock, and the only button that appears to function is the power on, power off. Any help out there?

My Samsung s4 mini just put itself into safe mode. Read a few things on here and other sites and I discovered the volume button was slightly dented. This is what put the phone into safe mode. I followed the advice to take the battery out and restart whilst holding in the volume down button, but because this was the damaged button it wouldn’t come out of safe mode. So I took the battery out, unscrewed the tiny screws and pushed out with bent volume button with a tiny screwdriver. Then I used a matchstick to push the volume down button and switched it back on and it is now out of safe mode!. I have left the volume button off as you can change the volume on screen in the settings. Long winded but the phone works again!
