Here are some websites that I am associated with in some way.
I always use Doteasy.com to host my sites. If you would like to start making a website and want to have your own domain name, I highly recommend Doteasy. (In the interests of full disclosure: If you click on that link and register a domain, I will get a small donation from Doteasy.)
Sites I am Currently Maintaining
Alien Times
http://www.alientimes.org I created this website as an archival site for a newsletter that is published in Tsukuba, Japan.
http://www.frugaljapan.com This site helps people live frugally in one of the most expensive countries in the world.
Frugal Japan Wiki
http://wiki.frugaljapan.com This is a sister site to FrugalJapan.com. It lets people read frugal tips and add their own.
Japan Cat Network
http://www.japancatnet.com This is a non-profit organization that seeks to control the stray cat population through "trap, neuter, return" (TNR) techniques.
J-COOL
http://www.j-cool-japan.com I made the introductory page and the English site for my friend Masaru's salon in Tsukuba.
http://tellandselljapan.alientimes.org Tell and Sell Japan is a mailing list for foreign people living in Japan who want to sell, buy, trade or give away new or gently used merchandise and other personal items.
Tsukuba City Hall - English Site
http://www.tsukubainfo.jp This is the official website for Tsukuba, the city where I live. The original English website was not very informative, so I offered to spruce it up.
http://www.gcp-urcm.org This website was originally created for a conference that was held in Mexico in September 2006. It is now being used as a clearinghouse for information on management of carbon dioxide.
Sites I am Not Maintaining Anymore
Aizu Wakamatsu International Association
http://awia.jp I designed the English and Japanese website for the association when I was working there, but the site that you can find at this link now has been changed drastically from what I did. Changed for the better, naturally, as I was a full on amateur when I did the original site.
www.eggsfromdehart.com (no longer online) Sandi is a good friend who I met when I lived in Fukushima. She is a gifted artist and she creates these incredible lacquered eggs, along with some beautiful card sets. I offered to help her make a website to advertise her work. (This site is no longer online.)
Japan Canada Community Network
http://www.geocities.com/japancanadacommunity I created this site when I was living in Canada, but it is way too high maintenance for me to keep up while I am in Japan. It has a lot of good information, but it needs constant attention to make sure that all of the resource entries are kept up to date. I wish someone would volunteer to maintain it.
Japanese Social Services
http://www.jss.ca I participated in the initial planning stages of this site, but I had very little to do with the design and nothing to do with the content.
Japanese Visitors Association
http://www.geocities.com/java_toronto I am one of the founding members of this organization and I designed the original website with the help of some of the other members. The current site is completely different.
Japan Society
http://www.japansocietycanada.com I created this site when I worked for the Japan Society in Toronto. It is now being maintained by their executive administrator. I was just learning how to make frames when I built this one. I never use frames anymore...
http://www.nihongobenriya.com This is a new company that offers to help with the little things that are hard to do on your own in Japan if you can't speak Japanese.
Shaney Crawford: Library Advocacy in Canada
www.slis.tsukuba.ac.jp/~shaney (no longer online) I used this site to record my research activities. I was working on a project to identify lobbying techniques that are used in the Canadian library community. The site was deleted when I finished my degree. Some of the contents have been preserved on the Research page of this site.
Toronto JET Alumni Association
http://toronto.jetaa.ca I updated and upgraded this site back in 2001, but I no longer maintain it as I left the committee when I moved back to Japan.
