W.P. Kinsella: The Silas Stories

Funny and Canadian. Why do these two always seem to go together? I don’t know, I can’t explain it, and perhaps only Canadians think so, but it seems to be a common theme. In this package, you’ll get three books for the price of one very big book: The Fencepost Chronicles, The Miss Hobbema Pageant, and Brother Frank’s Gospel Hour. You will be introduced to the hilarious cast of characters who live on the Ermineskin First Nations reserve in Alberta. Kinsella’s writing is crisp and fresh and never lets you down. (I’ve often wondered what someone who has lived on a First Nations Reserve might think of Kinsella. If you find out, let me know.) He has also written a lot of books about baseball, but I’ve never read any of them. I’ve heard that they are good, though, even if you’re not a huge baseball fan.
