It’s a bit hard to figure out exactly what this movie is trying to be. Is it trying to be a kid’s movie or a cleverly disguised adult’s movie? The basic idea of the story is that two girls find fairies in the woods near their home and set out to prove their existence to one of the girls’ parents. They believe that knowing about the fairies will help the mother get out of the funk she has been in since her son died. It’s a cute little movie and certainly worth watching if you have an afternoon to spare, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say that you should run out and rent it right away. (***)
